Adexen was mandated by a leading Logistics Group to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager for its operations in Nigeria. The position is based in Lagos, Nigeria.
Responsibilities
Responsiblefor the procurement of goods and services within the delegated authority and incompliance with Group procurement policies,proceduresand processes aimed at effective, efficient and transparent achievement of Company’s strategic objectives, cost and wastage reduction, and vendor/supplier engagement.
Plans, develops,and managesall procurement and contractual aspects of theCompany’s need for purchasing ofgoodsand services to support the activities of theCompany.
Negotiatesprices,delivery,and credit termswith externalvendors/suppliersin order to acquire the most cost-effectivedeals andto reduce procurement expenses.
Collaborateswith key persons toensure clarity ofthe specifications and expectations to thecompany.
Providesadvice on the full range of procurement issues,support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle and ensuring that the needs of the requisitioners are being met.
Tracksand reportskey functionalmetricsto reduce expenses and improveseffectiveness.
Developsand implementsprocurementpolicies, procedures,processes andstrategies that are inventive and cost-effectiveto maintain efficient operations.
Setsup a user-friendly framework to manage all purchases (from preparation bid/tender documents, receipt and analysis of offers, appointment of suppliers, coordination of acceptance testswith technical teams, etc.
Sourcesand engagesreliable suppliers and vendorsinmatters relating to placement of orders and respondsto their inquiries.
Implementschange and developsnew processes to better procure goods and services.
Analysesmarket and delivery trends to develop procurement technologies and processes that supportthose trends.
Undertakesprocurement on behalf of requisitioning officer in accordance with applicable rules and procedures.
Preparesand distributesinvitations to tender andmanages/conductsall aspects of bid/proposal evaluations in line with relevant rules and procedures.
Issuestenders and evaluatesoffers and make recommendationsfor the finalisation of purchases and the award of contracts following rules, procedures,and regulation.
Establishesand maintainsschedules for on-going contracts, manageson-going supplier contracts from a procurement perspective and maintainsrepositories of procurement documentation and supplier’scontract.
Maintainsan inventorysystem for fixed assets, attractive items, articles of values and materials in hand, and leadsthe annual stocktaking.
Implementscost-effective purchases of all goods andservices, as required by the company.
Ensuresquality control and adherence to thecompany’s policies andprocedures on supply chain management will be some of your mainpriorities when carrying the role.
Reviewsexisting contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
Buildsand maintainslong-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Controlsthe procurement budget and promotesa culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
Performsall procurement and contracting activities includingnegotiation and preparation of contracts.
Preparesrelevantreportsto the Finance Director
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degreeinBusinessAdministration,SupplyChain Management,Logistics,or anyotherrelatedfield of study.
Master's degree is a plus
Minimum of10years’ experiencein procurement,sourcing or purchasing,logistics,and supply chain managementin a reputable organisationis required.
