The Technical Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the technical availability and reliability of vessels within the assigned fleet, in line with budget and operational requirements.
The role plays a key part in maintaining high technical standards, optimizing maintenance processes, and supporting HSE excellence across operations.
Technical Management & Maintenance
- Ensure technical availability of vessels in line with operational and budgetary targets
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities in compliance with company standards
- Conduct annual technical inspections of assigned vessels
- Monitor maintenance performance and ensure continuous improvement
Budget & Cost Control
- Participate in the preparation of the annual maintenance budget
- Monitor and control maintenance costs on a monthly basis in coordination with finance teams
- Ensure cost efficiency while maintaining high technical standards
HSE & Compliance
- Promote and support a strong HSE culture across the fleet
- Participate in incident investigations and implement preventive actions
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations (ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC, STCW)
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Manage and supervise Chief Engineers across the assigned fleet
- Collaborate with internal departments including Crewing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations
- Interface with external stakeholders such as classification societies, flag authorities, and suppliers
