Job Introduction

    Adexen is recruiting an experienced HR Officer on behalf of a leading international construction group to support HR and administrative operations for its activities in Cotonou, Benin.

Responsibilities

    The HR Officer (Admin) supports the day-to-day HR and administrative operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with policies, local labor laws, and construction industry standards. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in employment contract management, conditions of service in the construction sector, and HR reporting.

    1. Human Resources Administration

    - Maintain accurate employee records and personal files.

    - Prepare, issue, and renew employment contracts in line with Benin labor laws.

    - Coordinate onboarding, induction, and exit processes.

    - Manage leave records, attendance, and timesheets.

    - Support payroll preparation with accurate employee data.

     

    2. Industrial Relations & Compliance

    - Ensure compliance with national labor laws and company procedures.

    - Liaise with government agencies for statutory obligations.

    - Support conflict resolution, grievances, and disciplinary procedures.

     

    3. HR Reporting & Analytics

    - Prepare reports on headcount, turnover, and workforce analytics.

    - Monitor manpower utilization on construction project sites.

    - Maintain HR databases and generate ad-hoc management reports.

     

    4. Recruitment & Employee Engagement

    - Support recruitment processes, shortlisting, and interview coordination.

    - Maintain a database of skilled and unskilled labor.

    - Contribute to welfare, engagement, and performance programs.

     

    5. Administrative Support

    - Manage HR documentation, filing, and correspondence.

    - Support travel logistics, office supplies, and record management.

    - Perform other duties assigned by management.

     

Desired Skills and Experience

    - Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or related field.

    - 3–5 years’ HR/Admin experience in construction or engineering.

    - Knowledge of Benin Republic labor laws.

    - Experience with HR documentation and payroll support.

    - Proficient in MS Office and HR information systems.

     

    Competencies:

    - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    - High integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.

    - Excellent organizational and reporting abilities.

    - Fluent in French and English, written and spoken.
