
The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing complex vertical construction projects, strong leadership capabilities, and a solid understanding of cost, schedule, quality, and safety requirements within the Nigerian construction environment.
1. Project Planning & Execution
- Lead the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction planning through commissioning and handover.
- Develop project schedules, methodologies, and construction strategies ensuring alignment with design and operational requirements.
2. Budget & Cost Control
- Manage project budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting.
- Oversee procurement processes, contract negotiations, and vendor/subcontractor management.
3. Timeline & Progress Management
- Track progress against milestones using MS Project and other project control tools.
- Implement corrective actions to maintain schedule adherence.
4. Team Leadership & Supervision
- Direct and supervise site engineers, subcontractors, and specialist consultants.
- Promote a high-performance culture through clear communication, coaching, and accountability.
5. Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance
- Enforce compliance with local building codes, project specifications, and global safety standards (including OSHA).
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure the highest levels of workmanship and safety.
6. Stakeholder Coordination
- Interface with developers, architects, structural and MEP consultants, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Manage documentation for permits, approvals, and statutory compliance.
7. Risk Management
- Identify construction risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Oversee change management processes and ensure transparent communication of impacts.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction project delivery.
- At least 5 years managing high-rise projects of 20+ floors (residential or commercial).
- Proven experience in vertical construction, MEP coordination, structural systems, façade installation, and finishing works.
Certifications (Preferred)
- PMP, PRINCE2, CCM, LEED, OSHA or equivalent project management/construction certifications.
Languages
- Fluency in English required.
- Arabic language skills are an advantage.
