Job Introduction

    Adexen was mandated by an international logistics group to recruit a Sales Steering Manager for its operations. The position is based in Tema, Ghana.

Responsibilities

    • Establishes volume and revenue goals to maximize profitability for the Company.
    • Produces and analyzes sales forecasts, trends and budgets to assist in the development and maintenance of accounts.
    • Develops global volume/revenue budgets and forecasts in conjunction with the Sale Director and monitors overall performance of accounts, following the indicators of the top manager.
    • Steers sales staff to achieve the most attractive business based on equipment imbalances, ship system requirements and target accounts/commodities.
    • Manages capacity and space allocation, sorted by destination
    • Manages the Business Intelligence (Sales campaign, analysis, others).
    • Manages the Pricing.
    • Maintains and defines semiannual rates at different levels.
    • Sets targets and accomplishment recognition focused on area sales manager.
    • Facilitates Consensus for cargo demand discrepancies.
    • Data monitoring, gaps and opportunities detection and management assistance in Capacity, Pricing and Empty repositioning process.
    • Coordinates Data maintenance on vessels, clients and sales rep.
    • Analyzes competitive information and statistical data.
    • Monitors and provides reports on performance vs. budget.
    • Facilitates e-business initiatives to enhance customer and carrier efficiencies
    • Prepares monthly actuals and trend results.
    • Markets equipment effectively by steering containers to equipment demand areas and depleting surplus areas.
    • Communicates new requirements, processes and procedures to staff.
    • Ensures consistent application of Group policies to all personnel actions.
    • Monitors and measures workload of staff to ensure best process is in place.

Desired Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor University Degree in Transportation Engineering / Merchant Marine Officer or Equivalent
    • Possess at least 10 years of experience in liner shipping business
    • Previous experience within an international shipping group will be a plus
    • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar senior role
    • Local and international regulations regarding cargo transport Shipping.
    • Knowledge of technical aspects related to the role: Vessel, port terminals, containers operations
