Job Introduction

Adexen is mandated by a leading international Civil Construction Group to recruit a Supervisor Roadworks. The position is based in Cotonou- Benin Republic

Responsibilities

The Supervisor Roadworks will coordinate and oversee the daily activities of road construction teams, ensuring that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and according to technical specifications. The position requires solid expertise in drainage systems, light earthworks, and concrete finishing, combined with hands-on site management skills.

- Supervise and coordinate excavation, backfilling, drainage, and paving operations on site.
- Manage teams and subcontractors to ensure productivity, safety, and quality.
- Control the installation of precast U-channels, curbs, and light concrete structures.
- Monitor daily progress, materials, and equipment usage.
- Ensure work complies with project drawings, specifications, and health & safety standards.
- Report regularly to the Site Engineer and Project Manager.
- Support problem-solving and propose technical improvements when needed.

Desired Skills and Experience

Education: Technical diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of practical experience in road construction, drainage, or light earthworks.

Expertise:

• Drainage works, excavation, backfilling, and paving.

• Light concrete and road finishing works.

• Languages: Fluent in French and English (both spoken and written).

• Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and coordination skills.

  • Good technical understanding of road construction processes.

  • Proactive, hands-on, and safety-conscious approach.
