The Head of Fleet Crew Boat is responsible for ensuring that the crew boat fleet is operated, maintained, and manned efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with applicable regulations and company standards. The role also drives cost optimization, technical reliability, client satisfaction, and continuous performance improvement across the fleet.
Fleet Operations & Performance Management
- Lead and oversee Operations Managers, Fleet/Technical Managers in country, the Head of Technical Superintendents, and the Documentation Officer within the Crew Boat perimeter.
- Cascade operational objectives and ensure fleet performance is aligned with company goals and annual business plans.
- Guarantee operational and technical reliability through safe, organized, cost-effective, and high-quality fleet operations.
- Monitor fleet utilization, technical availability, service delivery, and overall client satisfaction.
Regulatory Compliance & Fleet Standards
- Ensure the implementation and enforcement of fleet standards across operations, crewing, HSE, and technical management.
- Maintain full compliance with Flag, ISM, ISPS, client, and company standards.
- Manage certification processes and client vetting requirements, including OCIMF OVIQ/OVID standards.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented following audits, inspections, and vetting findings.
Health, Safety, Security & Crisis Management
- Promote and reinforce a strong HSE, safety, and security culture across the fleet.
- Ensure HSE procedures, safety messages, and best practices are fully understood and applied onboard and ashore.
- Lead investigations when required and ensure proper implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in crisis management and support emergency response coordination when incidents occur.
Safety Management System (SMS) & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure that SMS sections are regularly updated, deployed, and audited across the organization.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of SMS implementation onboard and ashore.
- Drive process improvement initiatives and present corrective action plans and improvement recommendations to management.
- Support cross-functional collaboration with Crewing, Technical, HSE, Quality, and other relevant departments.
Commercial & Tender Support
- Support the Commercial Team during tendering and project execution phases.
- Review and submit operational and technical inputs for tenders.
- Ensure all tender submissions comply with company standards and applicable regulations.
- Contribute budgetary inputs and propose client corrective action plans linked to technical and fleet management topics.
Budget & Cost Control
- Define and monitor the fleet budget in coordination with in-country Fleet/Technical Managers and Head Office Operations.
- Track actual expenditures versus budget, analyze variances, and justify additional budget requests when needed.
- Liaise with Cost Control teams and manage fleet-related claims, including insurance claims follow-up and closure.
- Ensure budgets remain aligned with operational priorities and business objectives.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and develop the fleet management team.
- Ensure performance reviews and talent reviews are completed annually.
- Promote company values, diversity and inclusion, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Foster innovation, initiative, and a high-standard mindset across the team.
