Job Introduction

    Adexen is mandated by an international leader in the building materials and sanitary solutions sector to recruit a Business Development Manager for West Africa, as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence across Francophone countries.

Responsibilities

    The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving market development across West Africa (Francophone countries).

    The role focuses on identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing distribution networks, managing key projects, and strengthening the company’s market position in the region.

     

    Market Development & Strategy

    • Analyze regional markets to identify growth opportunities and business potential
    • Conduct market research and develop sales strategies and roadmaps
    • Monitor competition and market dynamics, providing regular insights

     

    Business Development & Sales

    • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
    • Achieve regional sales targets and drive revenue growth
    • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and value propositions
    • Define country-specific product positioning and offerings

     

    Distribution Network Management

    • Identify, onboard, and develop distribution partners
    • Monitor partner performance (sales conditions, product selection, stock, payments)
    • Support showroom setup and ensure brand consistency
    • Provide training and ongoing support to local teams

     

    Project Development & Execution

    • Identify and secure key projects across the region
    • Engage with key stakeholders (MEP consultants, architects, contractors)
    • Lead specification processes and present technical solutions
    • Oversee project execution and installation supervision

     

    Training & Knowledge Transfer

    • Deliver technical and product training to partners and local teams
    • Organize workshops, site visits, and customer engagement activities
    • Ensure effective transfer of engineering and product knowledge

     

    Reporting & Tools

    • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and budgets by market
    • Maintain accurate records using CRM tools (contacts, projects, pipeline)

Desired Skills and Experience

    Education

    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEP) or Business Administration

    Experience

    • 5 to 10 years of experience in business development or sales
    • Proven experience in Africa, ideally within the construction or building materials sector

    Skills & Competencies

    • Strong commercial and negotiation skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach
    • Ability to work in a multicultural and dynamic environment
    • Strong organizational skills, rigor, and adaptability

    Technical Skills

    • Proficiency in MS Office
    • Knowledge of CAD tools is an advantage

    Languages

    • Fluent in French and English
    • Additional languages are a plus
