First Officer - Business Aviation

Adexen has been mandated by one of its clients to recruit an experienced First Officer to join its private aviation operations.

Responsibilities

Working alongside experienced Captains, the successful candidate will support the operation of Bombardier Challenger 604/605 aircraft across domestic and international missions.

The role requires strong technical flying capabilities, excellent crew coordination and a commitment to the highest standards of safety, professionalism and confidentiality.

The position is based in Nigeria with regular international operations.

As First Officer, you will work closely with the Captain to ensure the safe, efficient and professional execution of all assigned flights.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assist the Captain in the safe and efficient operation of all flights.
• Participate in pre-flight planning, aircraft preparation and operational briefings.
• Support navigation, radio communications and flight management activities.
• Participate in flight planning, aircraft performance calculations and preparation of operational documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable aviation regulations, Standard Operating Procedures and internal safety requirements.
• Monitor aircraft systems and flight parameters throughout operations.
• Coordinate effectively with maintenance teams, dispatch, ground handling providers and other operational partners.
• Maintain effective Crew Resource Management and contribute to strong cockpit coordination.
• Contribute actively to the continuous improvement of flight safety and operational standards.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion at all times.
• Ensure complete confidentiality regarding passengers, schedules, destinations and flight operations.
• Remain flexible and available for international and short-notice assignments.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Valid ICAO Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
• Current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• Minimum 2,000 total flight hours.
• Bombardier Challenger 604/605 Type Rating preferred. Candidates willing and eligible to obtain the relevant Type Rating may also be considered.
• Previous experience within corporate, private or business aviation is preferred.
• Good understanding of international flight operations and private aviation procedures.
• Strong technical flying skills.
• Excellent Crew Resource Management capabilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Professional attitude and conduct.
• High level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
• Commitment to safety and continuous professional development.
• Ability to work effectively within a flexible operational schedule.
• Valid passport and ability to obtain the visas required for international operations.
• Willingness to be based in Nigeria and travel extensively internationally.
• Availability for weekends, public holidays and short-notice flight assignments.
