Adexen was mandated by a leading manufacturer to recruit a Transport Manager for its operations. The position is based in Tanzania

Responsibilities

• Responsible for transport operations, maintenance, safety, equipment, and personnel management
• Full responsibility for fleet and equipment maintenance and the mechanical workshops
• Efficiently manage the company’s fleet of trucks and uninterrupted supply to meet customers’ demands at all times
• Optimise expenses and maximize equipment availability and utilization
• Ensure profitability by controlling costs
• Ensure trucks, trailers and equipment availability
• Ensure a quicker turnaround of the company’s fleet.
• Monitor the procurement of trucks
• Minimize downtime of the company fleet.
• Ensure fleet registration, documentation, and updating of drivers’ license
• Review the performance of the transport department

Desired Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree from a reputable University
• Minimum of 10 year Transport Management experience of a large fleet and associated equipments
• Knowledge of supply chain core processes and logistics business
• Customer service oriented
• Good supervisory and people management skills
• Organizing and planning skills
