This is a high-visibility, complex and fast-moving port reconstruction program, at the heart of Nigeria’s trade, logistics and economic growth.
We are looking for a seasoned Project Manager with a strong background in marine works and port infrastructure, capable of taking full ownership of a large, multidisciplinary construction project in a demanding operating environment.
Your Mission
You will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the port rehabilitation works, from mobilization to handover, ensuring that the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to international quality standards.
1. Project Leadership & Delivery
- Take full ownership of project execution, from detailed planning through construction and commissioning.
- Define and control project schedules, budgets and resource plans in line with contractual and client objectives.
- Anticipate risks, constraints and interface issues and put in place proactive mitigation plans.
- Ensure smooth coordination between marine works, civil works, dredging, structures, equipment and logistics.
2. Site & Team Management
- Lead and coordinate a large, multicultural team of engineers, supervisors, contractors and subcontractors.
- Establish a strong site culture based on safety, performance, accountability and collaboration.
- Drive productivity, discipline and technical excellence across all work packages.
3. Stakeholder & Client Interface
- Act as the main interface with the client, port authority, government agencies and consultants.
- Manage communications, reporting and project governance at senior level.
- Handle claims, variations and negotiations in close cooperation with commercial teams.
4. Financial & Contractual Control
- Control project costs, cash flow and forecasts.
- Monitor contract performance, variations, claims and risk exposure.
- Ensure profitability while maintaining strong client relationships.
5. Quality, HSE & Compliance
- Enforce international standards for marine construction, port infrastructure and HSE.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian regulations, environmental requirements and contractual obligations.
- Deliver a port facility that meets international performance and durability standards.
