Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a leading construction company to recruit an Expatriate HSE Manager. The position is based in Lagos, Nigeria.
Responsibilities
Supervise work procedures, method statements, time estimates, material and equipment lists and interfaces on site
Manage HSE Systems of work on site
Responsibility for all Process Safety issues on site
Oversee the HSE project plans and company procedures
Conduct HSE reviews, audits and inspections
Conduct Safety studies and risk assessments both qualitative and quantitative
Carry our incident investigations
Develop induction and site HSE training program
Reinforce Safe behaviors of work and correct unsafe behaviors
Chair Weekly and Monthly HSE meetings and communicate to management
Desired Skills and Experience
Engineering degree from an accredited university
Minimum 10 years relevant experience in the construction industry preferably in a similar position
Experience of large civil construction projects
Fully conversant with international health, safety & environmental codes, standards, recommended practices and regulations and their application to similar projects
Additionally, experience of developing safe behaviors of work and communicating at all levels of management is essential
Excellent in problem solving, analytical skills
Ability to work in multicultural environment and under pressure
Previous experience in Nigeria or West Africa will be a plus
