Adexen was mandated by an international Food Production Company to recruit an expatriate Factory Maintenance Manager for its operations in Mozambique
Responsibilities
Responsible for managing all aspects of the maintenance department. This includes managing the upkeep of all manufacturing assets, managing maintenance budget and resources and assisting in the design and installation of new systems.
Further responsible for ensuring that the facilities, layout and machinery used to produce new and existing materials and goods run to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes total preventative maintenance, managing breakdowns of mechanical, electrical and automated equipment (including software programming). Includes people management and budgetary/cost reporting.
The manager provides a short and long term vision on engineering performance and development, by providing all analysis, dashboard and pluri-annual technical plan which are supporting decision making.
Lead the site Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and pro-active, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure
Responsible for planned scheduling creation and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out. Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to
Manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the department
Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes
To set up and to maintain the technical referential (working instruction, technical specification) covering the whole engineering processes, ensuring productivity and efficiency of the operations
To set up and to implement technical training to continuously upgrade and develop technical skills of the operational teams
To validate the adoption of any new products, equipment or protective equipment
Managed Budget and Cost Control (CAPIN, Fixed and Variable costs and Economic Value Added)
Management and Development of subordinates.

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree from a recognised University in Engineering or any related field of study
From 10 years in similar job position or engineering in heavy plant industry
Proven experience in managing a large team
Autonomous, Leadership, Team management
Previous experience in Emerging Countries/Africa will be a plus
English & Portugese
