TSL was incorporated in 1994 under the Companies Ordinance (Cap 212) with Certificate of Incorporation No. 25380 as a securities broker and investment advisory company. TSL is licensed by the Capital Markets and Securities Authority of Tanzania (CMSA) as a broker-dealer and investment adviser. TSL is also a Licensed Dealing Member (LDM) of the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) and is an approved primary and secondary dealer of Government Securities which include Treasury Bills and Treasury Bonds. TSL is a registered Central Depository Participant (CDP) of the Bank of Tanzania.
TSL's principal business activities include provision of broker/dealer services in respect of shares/stocks and Government Securities, as well as investment advisory services. TSL's investment advisory clients have included: pension funds, insurance companies, micro finance institutions (MFIs), SACCOs, Corporations, and individuals.
Through its subsidiary TIM, TSL is also licensed by the CMSA as a Nominated Advisor (NOMAD) giving it mandate to advise and assist Start-up companies, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and other companies to raise capital from the public through initial public offers (IPOs) and subsequently list their shares on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) under the Enterprise Growth Market (EGM) window.
