The history of the School of Education (SoE) is intricately intertwined with that of SUZA.
Way back in 2001, the School of Education, a foundation school of the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), previously a Department of Education, was part of the School of Education, Arts and Science (SEAS). After the restructuring of the University in October 2012, the Department of Education was upgraded and became the School of Education.
SoE was designed to serve as an important unit of the University where the core functions of the university (teaching, learning, research, outreach programs and consultancy) would be best performed.
