Karen Roses Limited opened its doors to commercial cut flower farming in 1989 and was the first farm in Kenya to grow roses under steel greenhouses. Its is a family owned but professionally run company which proudly owns 6 farms located in two counties with over 80 HA in production. The first farm is located in Nairobi (Kenya’s capital) and 5 in Eldama Ravine, Baringo Central County, a rural town approximately 200 km from Nairobi that lies on the Equator at approximately 2,100 meters above sea level.

Our processes and systems have been built over the last 30 years and include world class cool chain and quality management systems as is evidenced by the various accreditation we continue to hold, FAIRTRADE, Global GAP, GRASP MPS A, MPS SQ, Leaf and BOPP.

Europe still remains our main market with important trading partners in the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands. We maintain global presence in many other countries with footprints in 5 continents (Europe, Asia, Australia, North America and Africa). The latest addition to our assortment is the Eldama brand, a spray roses expansion in response to the increasingly sophisticated needs of flowers buyers in both the retail and wholesale markets.

Our employees and community are important stakeholders in our business, so we spend a lot of our time working with our customers to help identify, plan and manage improvements in our community infrastructure. New classrooms for better learning environments, water storage solutions, laboratories, a maternity wing, community library, just to name a few, are some of the successful projects to date. We are very proud of our achievements to date and continue to work hard to sell beautiful roses that create employment, support livelihoods, directly and indirectly.
