Basra Gateway Terminal recently joined the ICTSI Group – a dynamic company with global operation portfolio in managing container terminals.
It is one of the major maritime terminal operators in the world present in 6 continents, operating more than 30 marine terminals in 20 countries positioned in some of the world’s most strategic trade lanes.
On 8 April 2014, ICTSI signed a contract with General Company for Ports of Iraq to operate, develop, and expand the container handling facilities at Umm Qasr.
This includes Berth 19, 20 and 21 and three new berths including berth 27 for 26 years. At full build, the expansion project of the three new berths will have a total quay length of 600 meters and a capacity of 900,000 TEUs, with storage capabilities for general and project cargo.
