The University is owned by Malaysian Allied Health Sciences Academy (MAHSA) Sdn Bhd. It was founded in 2005 as MAHSA College and within less than five years the college status was upgraded to MAHSA University College in 2009. The University College has expanded so rapidly offering more courses both diploma and degrees. It started to offer programmes like Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) and many more.
In 2013 the University College was upgraded to a full university, hence, MAHSA University.
