The University of Calicut is the largest University in Kerala.

Established in the year 1968. It is the second university to be set up in Kerala. Calicut University is affiliated by UGC and located at Thenjipalam in Malappuram district of Kerala state in India.

The university has a number of off-campus centres in neighbouring districts, especially Kozhikode, Wayanad, Thrissur, Palakkad and Lakshadweep islands.
It conducts courses and examinations for the students of the affiliated colleges. It has 30 post graduate departments and 426 colleges.
However, the main business in the campus is the administration and conduct of examinations.
