Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a Multinational industrial Group to recruit a Corporate Finance & Investment Manager for its Nigerian office.
Job description
The Corporate Finance & Investment Manager will ensure compliance with all tax legislations and regulations including tax planning activities, guard against Company exposure by ensuring adequate insurance cover for all aspects of the business at all locations and ensure efficient treasury performance in all areas including optimal investment decisions and cash flow management. He/she will also ensure that all Internal Control Standards of the company linked to Tax Management, Insurance and Treasury functions are implemented and the related procedures are effectively respected.
The position is based in Lagos & will report to the Finance Director & Chief Finance Officer.
Responsibilities
Tax Management
- Ensure that the company is fully-compliant with tax legislation and regulations at all times
- Keep fully up to date on taxation legislation and regulations, assessing the impact of changes in company’s tax burden
- Ensure that payments to tax authorities are made on due dates
- Initiate Income Tax Declaration done by the External Auditors
- Provide Monthly VAT declarations
- Process Withholding Tax from suppliers
- Establish Tax Clearance Certificates (TCC) for all individual taxes
- Manage and provide tax planning for the company, advising management on tax efficient ways of conducting the Company’s business
- Identify areas of Tax Optimisation within the provisions of prevailing taxation legislation, working with consultants / specialists as necessary
- Provide input to the Group Treasurer of cash payments to tax authorities for corporate cash flow planning
Insurance Management
- Assess risk exposure from company’s operations and provide appropriate insurance cover
- Negotiate premia with agents and brokers
- Maintain adequate records of insurance policies
- Advise management on insurance issues
Treasury Management
- Liasing with CTD on all Hedging related issues
- Full responsibility and participation in the financing and ensure all financing document are securely kept
- Liasing with all Banks, daily review of statements
- Collection and Monitoring of Bank Balances
- Coordinating Funds transfer if need be.
- Investment Management (Roll Overs and Initiation)
- Foreign Currency Cash Float
- Cash Flow preparation ( Monthly, Year & Forecast)
- Full supervision of the Trade Finance desk
- Efficient Management of resources in the opening of LC’s and other foreign payments
- Safe Keeping of manual cheques and other financial instruments
Qualifications et experience
- B.Sc in a finance related field(Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Banking & Finance e.t.c)
- Professional qualification is an added advantage (ACCA/ACA/MBA)
- At least 10 years experience in a similar function
- Familiarity with Entreprise Resource Planning(ERP) Systems(SAP e.t.c)
- Good understanding of the Generally Accepted Accounting principles(GAAP)
- Good Knowledge of Tax Laws
- Good Knowledge of Insurance Laws (Local and Foreign)
- Significant knowledge of the Sarbanes–Oxley Act(SOX)
